A. Up-coming Events
1. Health Camp: a multidisciplinary management in MD disorders
Program Date: 20th September 2008/Shrawan 4th 2065
Venue: Agrawal Sewa Kendra Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu.
Time: 9.00 am to 3.00 pm
Volunteer requirements: Professionals and support members/event experts .
Participation: Affected Muscular Dystrophy Disorders and their parents, professionals and volunteers.
Program covers:
- Genetics and diagnosis
- General know how and natural history of disease
- Muscle strength and function
- The use of corticosteroids in DMD
- Prevention and management of spinal deformity and bone health
- Respiratory management in DMD/MD
- Cardiovascular management in DMD/MD
- Other issues:
- Nutrition and Gastrointestinal issues
- Learning and Behavioral (Psychological and motivational) aspects
- Parents Counseling
2. National Seminar on DMD/MD:
Program Date : 8 and 9th November 2008/Kartik 23 and 24 2065
Venue: Tripureswore Party Palace,
World Trade Centre Tripureswore, Kathmandu.
Opening Session Day 1st
Time: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm
Scientific Session Day 2nd
Time: 9.00 am to 4.00 pm
Participation: Affected Muscular Dystrophy Disorders and their parents, research and clinical professionals, community health workers, rehabilitation experts, teachers, disable campaigners, Government body, social workers and volunteers.
Volunteer requirements: Professionals, Support Members/Event Experts.
