Chief Guest Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal addressing the forum focused over two kinds of problems for the entire human being in present time – one as nature born (birth related) and the other as human created (born).
Mr. Nepal asked/requested suffered children to be courageous
and highly motivated even after their disability and asked
the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to give high priority
to muscular dystrophy
related diseases so that it can be included in national health
related agenda/policy.
Special invitee Honorable Dr. Bansidhar Mishra, State Minister
for Health told that the state will give high priority to
this disease considering over seriousness, magnitude and impact
of this health related problem.
Mr. Jai Prakash Agrawal, President of MDF- Nepal highlighted
over the activities of MDF which included providing direct
and indirect health services ( including free of cost physiotherapy
services) to 300 patients from the center, holding seminar
& interaction programs among the Physiotherapists and
Neuro Physicians at national levels.

Mr. Birendra Raj Pokharel, President of the National Federation
of the Disabled - Nepal lamented over the need to clarify
and categorize muscular dystrophy caused disables in the central
health policy & structure and told that the his association
will be fighting for the welfare of those disables until they
get their rights as the approaches of disables have now radically
changed from Charity base to Right base.
Dr. Rohit Pokharel and Dr. Rajendra Pandey speaking at the
occasion appreciated the activities of MDF – Nepal which are
linked for the welfare of the patients and their guardians.
Mr. Anil Kumar Upadhyay, on behalf of the parents of patients
(President of Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD) &
Secretary of MDF- Nepal) requested all concerned like public,
society, foundations,
associations and government to view and give consideration
over the master project (which includes building construction,
diagnosis of the diseases, physiotherapy services, hostel
and education services)
prepared by the MDF- Nepal to rehabilitate the muscular dystrophy
sufferers in future.
He also highlighted over the need to include muscular dystrophy
related diseases in national health policy and priority.
Musician of the album Mr. Shakti Ballav Shrestha appreciated
the effort of tiny children to sing and prepare the album
whose royalty would go for the welfare of the muscular dystrophy
affected children. Mr. Shrestha was pointing at this example
as how one can be of highly helpful (assistance) to others
in a society.
