Inspired by the realization of the ground of reality of MD disability challenges and stimulation for the betterment of his and other MD affected disables, Anushpa Nepal Muscular Dystrophy Memorial Trust was established on the demise of Duchene boy Anushpa at the premature age of 17 on 3 rd September 2008 in Kathmandu , Nepal . Anushpa was a great inspiration and roadmap for his parents Mr. Anil and Mrs. Karuna in their personal family life and collaboration of all parents, children with MD disabilities, professionals within and outside the country for the formulation of PPMD-Nepal and MDF-Nepal. This trust was announced on 8 November 2008 at the occasion of 3 rd National Seminar of MDF-Nepal in Kathmandu which has collected Rs 1,10,000.00 as the seed money from the contribution of following family members of late Anushpa. Mrs. Shanta Devi - Grandmother, Mrs.Mahalaxmi Sharma - aunty, Mr. & Mrs. Sunil Upadhayay - uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Anil Upadhayay - Parent, and Mr. & Mrs. Pranil Upadhayay - uncle. This trust formulated under the umbrella organization MDF - Nepal has the objectives of vital fund for the children's development related to general education, vocational knowledge, technical skills (including computer related) and other capacity developments of children affected with MD related disabilities. Full and partial free educational scholarships would be provided to normal children in MD affected families who can contribute for the betterment of MD disability through his/her own empowerment in future.
